At Highfields Retreat, we are committed to providing an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all our guests.

This statement provides an overview of the accessibility features available throughout our park. If you have specific needs or
questions, please do not hesitate to contact us prior to your visit.


Pre-Arrival

We offer detailed information about our facilities on our website, including maps and photos.

Our team is available by phone and email to answer questions about accessibility and help plan your visit.

Directions to the park can be provided by email or are available on our website.


Arrival & Parking

A designated accessible parking bay is located close to reception.

All parking areas are on level, hard-standing, gravelled surfaces.

Assistance with luggage is available upon request.


Reception Area

Step-free access via a ramp.

Wide-access doors.

Lowered reception desk.

The Reception is open from 9am-5pm, Monday – Saturday
and for emergencies the telephone is answered until 9pm every evening.



Accommodation

We have 2 Log cabins and 3 caravans available for hire. All are single storey accommodation.


Parking is provided alongside each cabin for 2 cars, and one car for caravans.


The Park View Lodge has a 1.2 metre ramp for wheelchair access and wide opening entry doors.

The Caravans and the Woodside cabin have 3 steps to gain entry.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all accommodations, except Park View Lodge.


Please contact us in advance to ensure the most suitable unit is reserved for your needs.


Paths & Grounds

Most paths are gravel or grass, suitable for most mobility scooters.

Benches and resting spots are located throughout the park.


Staff Cover

The Park Managers and Park Wardens all live on the park and provide 24-hour cover in the event of an emergency.

Instructions of where to find them are displayed at Reception.

Fishing

There is good access to all lakes with many wide flat pegs from which to fish.


On one end of two of our lakes (nearest to the cabins) there is a descending pathway to the water’s edge. Access to the other end of these lakes is from level ground.


Phone/Mobile Reception

The park has good coverage for 02 mobile network and reasonable coverage for Vodafone.
